Creating Your Online Course

Step 1: Log in to your Miestro platform. You will see your Miestro platform.

Step 2: Click the Start New Project button.

Step 3:Select either “Start from Scratch” or “Choose Course.” We recommend that when you’re first getting started, you choose from a previously created course template.

Step 4:Select from the following three options: Micro Course, Full Online Course, or Membership Program.

This demonstration will show how to create a Membership Program.

Step 5: Enter the Course Name.

Step 6: Click Create and Continue.

You’ll land on the course materials page, where you’ll actually build out your course. The course name will be listed on the top left.

This is a roadmap that we’ve built to show you what each of the sections are and how to start building.

The course material outline is shown on the left column. Whatever you click on within the course outline will appear on the right side of the screen.

Step 7: To change the name of a section, click on the less in the left column. Then enter the new name in the Section Title field.

Step 8:Click Save.

Step 9:To edit the lesson content, start by clicking on a lesson name in the left column.

Step 10: On the right, you can change the lesson name by entering the new lesson name in the Lesson Name field.

Step 11: Click Upload PDF to upload a PDF file for this lesson. Locate the file on your device.

Step 12: After the file is uploaded, you’ll see an optional content box that you can click on and add any additional information regarding that upload (such as a description, additional links, etc.).

Step 13:Under the Setting section, you can click Save as a draft if you’d like to save this lesson as a draft, you can set the lesson to release on a specific date or number of days after they join.

Step 14: Under the Resources section, you can upload additonal resources for this lesson.

Step 15: When the lesson updates are complete, click Save.

Step 16: To delete a lesson, hover over the name and click on the X to the right of the name.

Step 17: To move a lesson, click on the three lines to the left, hold, and drag the lesson to the desired location. You can perform the same function to move sections around as well.

Step 18: To add a new lesson, click Add Lesson and select the lesson type. Then repeat the above steps to edit the lesson details and add resources, video files, and documents for this lesson.

For lesson videos, make sure to keep your videos short to help your students learn your content in smaller increments. This will help them move through your content at a faster rate and not feel overwhelmed with longer videos. Videos are limited to a 2GB size.

PRO TIP: Make sure to save your work as you move along. Miestro does not have an autosave feature.
